Established in 1995, the Northeast Association of Electric Cooperatives (NEAEC) is comprised of rural electric cooperative members and industry associate members throughout the northeastern United States, promoting and encouraging rural electrification.

There are currently ten electric cooperative members throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and New York.

The association provides its members a place to express and exchange ideas fostering education throughout the cooperative community. Annually NEAEC offers educational experiences to its membership through traditional classrooms, guest speakers, and networking.

The association is governed by a four-member Board of Directors.
