The association recognizes the great work of its members by nominating cooperative directors and employees who demonstrate the cooperative way with the George D. Aiken award. Mr. Aiken was Vermont’s former Governor and Senator. Throughout his career, he was a strong advocate of nonprofit electric cooperatives providing affordable electric service to rural parts of Vermont and strengthening rural communities
